    Im shopping for a new laptop, and I really want a mac, but i dont think i can cough up 1600-2000 for the mac book pro i want.

    So ive been considering the dell vostro or inspiron lines, but i still really want the mac... any way to lower the price a bit?

    Im already aware of the free ipod for students deal, but ive already got an ipod, and i really just would rather have a cheaper price...

    MacMall has $150 off the 2.2 GHz MacBook Pro. Amazon has sales as well. Check those two. But they still won't be under $1600. Sorry.

    But what you can do is get the Student Discount deal, so $100 off right there, and sell the iPod Nano that comes with it. Sell it brand new, unopened, and you can get $150 off that.

    Unless you're willing to go for refurbished MacBook Pros on the Apple Refurb Store. They're much cheaper there.

    Also, this will get better answers on the Apple forum.
