    What exactly happened to it?

I don't mean to hijack your thread, but I tried attaching an external monitor to my MBP the other day, but nothing showed up on it. Am I missing a step in the process or is it defective?

Just to answer the question, if you can still see the screen on the MBP, the card is still good. Probably just need to configure the external display in the Displays preference tab.

But yea, chef I feel your pain, mine died in the spring. Might have to wait a bit for them to order in a replacement board, but it should be a pain-free process.

Other then time machine that is, and just make sure when you get it back your case is tightly put back together.
