hey, I recently bought a macbook pro...So far I'm really satisfied with it and i think i will only enjoy it more as i start getting used to the new OS(its my first mac) Now i have a couple questions:

1)---I upload a lot of pictures via my camera, now is there anyway to make the thumbnails a little preview of the picture rather then just the icon with the logo?
2)--- i have a wireless router in my house, now my Toshiba A100 picks up two bars of signal in my room consistently, While the macbook pro fluctuates between no signal and 3 or 4 bars...even while i write this post i lost connection 3 times  Now is this a week signal problem or a week airport problem??
    3) also bought the mighty mouse no i find that the left click works sometimes and sometimes not..is there a way of making it more sensible or do i just have to pace my had on it differently??

well thats it for now thanks

    1) The Icon view in OS X can show image previews (like this: http://www.xvsxp.com/interface/icons.php )

One thing, until Leopard comes out, you might want to look at a Finder replacement..... one that is very popular is called "Path Finder", and has some cool functions the default OS X Finder doesn't have: http://www.cocoatech.com/pf4/

EDIT: I should probably mention one particular feature of Path Finder that applies to what you are asking for:

    2) It depends, it could be that your particular router and the wireless in the MBP don't get along that well. Shouldn't be losing connection though; might search around a bit to see if other people with your router and particular MBP model are having a similar problem.

    3) Not quite sure from what you're describing, but the touch surface on the Mighty Mouse can be a bit sensitive..... but the left click should generally work most of the time. If it isn't, it might possibly be defective. Personally I'd just as soon recommend a normal mouse over the Mighty Mouse, unless you just particularly like it.

hey thanks alot for the reply..very helpful!
about the mouse...what i ment to say is sometimes when i right click, it accidentaly left clicks.
um i moved the macbook pro to my kitchen last night(my kitchen is alot closer to my router then my room) and it seems that i was getting a solid signal..so im gonna test it out today again after i get off work.
    angain thanks for the reply!

When you right-click with the mighty mouse, you need to make sure your finger isn't touching the left-side (this is basically how it "detects" whether you're left or right-clicking).

Just personally, I don't much care for the mighty mouse, and would just as soon recommend any 2-button mouse of choice. I give Apple credit for the idea, but the implementation just seems too "raw" to me.

The mighty mouse is junk. I would take it back. As for your router it sounds like you are either attempting a long throw or there is something interfering with the signal. Try moving the router to a more central location.

Your MacBook Pro already has an Airport Extreme Card in it.

really you guys think that the mighty mouse is junk? I bought one along with my macbook pro and i find the mouse to be ok. I thought of also returning it when i bought it if i don't like it but it seems fine you just have to click in the right spot.

Seriously, don't let anyone tell you something isn't good if you like it. I've sometimes let them happen to me; I get something, like it a lot, then read a bunch of negative comments from other people about it and it sort of "ruins" it for me.

If you like the Mighty Mouse, and it works for you, I don't see any reason to return it.

I don't think it is "junk", personally. More just that it feels a bit too much like a "first generation" product. There are some aspects I generally do like, like the tiny 360 degree rollerball thing at the top. I think my biggest beef with it is just that it isn't as "smart" as I'd hope it would be; specifically, I wish that it was smart enough to detect when you were right clicking even if you were still touching the left "side" of the mouse as well.

But I think it's a solid mouse overall; I just ultimately prefer more traditional mice like the logitechs or even the razer mice. I personally would definitely love to see a revision to the Mighty Mouse that would improve on the initial concepts.

Personally, I think the mighty mouse is awesome. I carry one in my bag and use another one at the office. I adapted to it like a fish to water after using nothing but Windows PC'S and USB mice for the last 25 years.

I find it more precise and more responsive than any USB mouse that I've had. I also love the way it is detected by my MBP so quickly at startup.
