And i couldnt be happier! The thing is so thin, and gorgeous. It was a refurb and the thing looks amazing its in perfect condition! The keys are nice to type on, and the backlighting is a bonus! I havent turned it on yet just waiting for my family to get home.

    * Im going from Mac osx 10.39 to Leopard will I notice much of a difference.

    * Do all Macbooks screens need to be calibrated, if so how would I do that.

    Thanks

Why does it say your banned, you just posted? Well because I dont expect everybody on the net to be in just one forum.

I've had that title for forever. Don't think it's indicative of my post quality. :p

I believe that he/she is not violating any rules. Double posting only applies to each particular forum usually, no?

Back to your question. I think some people who visit NBR do not visit Macrumors & vice versa, so what he/she is doing with this "double post" is to get as many replies to his thread as possible...

First - congrats on the purchase. Regarding the quoted question you will probably notice a big difference, since leopard supposedly has the most number of new features than any previously released version of OS X.

Also, make sure to calibrate your battery.

Actually if you post in one forum such the Windows forum you can't post the same thread topic in the Mac forum. That would be cross posting and that is against forum rules. I'm not the police here so hold back your flames.

    Welcome to the Macbook family!

I see in your sig you owned an Ibook G3 500, me too! Awesome little machine for it's time, it still runs but the battery is toast :)

When I'm taking about a forum, I'm not referring to the Apple & Mac OS section of NBR or Dell section of NBR, for example. What I'm referring to when I mention different forums is something like NBR forums & MacRumors forums, etc. This is what the OP did. Post this thread here in the Apple section of NBR forum & the exact same thread in the MacRumors forum.

I just got my 15" unibody yesterday and love it so far.

Mouse/trackpad use SUCKED at first but I found a patch that removes acceleration and now it's actually useable and accurate :)

That's my only reasonable complaint so far. We'll see how the rest goes.

Now to find mini-displayport to DVI cable and FW800 to FW400 cable... :(

Yep, 8 years old still runs quite fast! Got new battery and the thing can hold like 4.5 hours of wifi use.

Oh, don't worry about that. I had just wanted to clarify because I thought that I had read the forum rules wrongly or something.

    Congrats!
You'll just find Leopard faster and with a few extra eye candy and productivity additions.
The unibody macs are aesthetically beautiful and solid. Good buy!

I'm not being a fan boy, but i find other laptops displeasing to my eyes after i have used a macbook pro. The only laptop i see worthy of looking at are the sony vaio's.

Congrats Waloshin! :) I'm glad you like your Macbook, as I know I surely do! :D Just a heads up, you might want to calibrate the screen if it seems to have a lower contrast. ;)

Just got my unibody macbook pro for the price of early 2008 macbook pro with student discount: $1300. btw, this macbook pro is brand new ^_^.
I am very happy with it. The screen are gorgeous vs. my old macbook black/white.
I did not testing other things yet, but I will update my experience later.

Wow. Your school offer such an amazing deal for the unibody MBP? I just wish I'm able to find a deal like this. :( Man, my school is offering the base MBP for $1,899 before 8.25% taxes. :(

Totally agree. Sony's IDs are practically on par with Apple's IDs. Now if only Sony had a Jonathan Ive counterpart.... :)

Agreed... people always say to buy from universities, but I think the discounts are overrated. My sister, who will be attending Harvard the coming fall, apparently only gets a $150 discount on a 2.4GHz MacBook unibody.

He got this MBP as a graduation gift and he is not into mac that much so I just want to have some cash on hand. ;)
