I've been deciding between the 17 inch and the 15 inch, I was just wondering, how bright is the new 15 inch LED's? (Quality and such, I plan to play video games, and watch movies with a decent rate...)

I'd worry less about the brightness, and more about which size (15" v. 17") you wanted and what screen resolution you'd be happiest with.

Games and movies would be fine on the 15" 1440x900 res.

Developers and artists would prefer the 1680x1050 or the 1920x1200 of the 17."

Of course the 17" is also a little bit larger, and neither the 15" or the 17" are heavy bulky pig laptops.

I'm a developer/artist and I feel a little cramped on the 15" 1440x900, even with an external monitor running at 1280x1024.

The 15" LED-backlit screen is VERY bright! It really lights up the room, so much that I have to decrease the backlight slightly at times, lol. The color and contrast is excellent, I love playing Company of Heroes on it.

Beautiful screen for sure, you won't be disappointed.

I have a Matte Macbook Pro and a Glossy Macbook and I can honestly say the Matte (in my opinion) is far superior. Yes the colors aren't so extravagantly bright but running them side by side the glossy looks really bad (to me).

    My 2 cents.

Yes, I think that the Matte really rocks! I compare the Matte with the Glossy in store. The Matte is really impressive. I totally agree with LightofHonor89
