Technically yes, as it is a lithium ion battery as well, but yeah, I think you should remember why you got an iPod; to listen to it when you don't have another way to listen to music
. So I think keeping it plugged in, especially a device like an iPod, defeats the purpose. I guess the same can be said for notebooks as well. But I wouldn't worry about it too much. The battery will most likely last two years or longer.

stealthsniper96 What Was I Thinkin'?
Idk. I have had bad lucky with the battery in my Ipod video doing things like that. I always had it in the dock on my speakers just because that was the easiest place to keep it but now my battery life is bad. I didnt really notice it until i went flying across the country which was like the worst time for it to happen. My battery was at like half when the one on my sisters video (bought shortly after mine) was at like 3/4. Idk it seems like its gotten better but I would avoid it if I was you.

what kidn of ipod do you have if you have the older prolly todays ipods are much better computerized?

Keeping it on the charger is unnecessary. Actually I believe that if you keep it on the charger for a long time it risks being over charged and may get damaged that way. What I did with my iPod was let it drain all the way when I used it. I would let it drain all the way until it shut off due to lack of power. It wasn't until recently that i learned that Li-Ion batteries don't compe well with that sort of treatment. So now my iPod lasts only about 3/4 of the time that it used to(it has been a little over 1.5 years though).
So my recommendation to you is that you simply charge it before it completely dies(when it is close to the red range) in order to preserve battery. Otherwise just charge it fully and leave it until you need to use it portably. That is my word of advice. -
so it's better to keep it plugged in? but once in a while let it deplete till it warns like one time a week.?

You can do what I do, and accidentally leave it playing songs on all night...
Makes it really fun for when I hook it back up in my car and I wonder why the most annoying song from an album, of a band that I didn't remember listening to the last time is playing... -
yea i usually keep y speakers off but my ipod playing so it somewhat consumes power while it is plugged so at least it doesnt over charge heheheh
