My self-imposed macbook pro purchase status is "on hold" because I am college bound and I want my mbp to last as long as possible- if that means waiting a few weeks I can handle that.
But my question is this- I know to avoid Rev A products - but does a new LED screen and potentially a new graphics card revert the product back to revision A status?
After I wait for the new mbp's to be released, can I go out and buy one the day of, or do I need to wait a few weeks to see how they fare and make sure the screens dont explode / die / flash / burn?
Edit: if the general thought is that I am safe buying it the day of, I wouldn't mind doing a comprehensive review of the machine for notebookreview. does anyone know who to talk to about that?

Generally there will be some minor issues, but nothing that will completely inhibit your "apple experience". LED LCDs have been around for a while now, and the technology is pretty stable, so I wouldn't worry so much about that. What I would be concerned about is a MBP redesign. We all know there were issues with the first Macbook Pro that were because of the redesign, and were sorted out in the next installment.
Apple has a good rep on not releasing a product until it's absolutely ready, and also of not second guessing themselves. If there is some minor issues with the new MBP(say heat or something like that, which doesn't affect visual/stability quality, or hinder performance too much) then apple will most likely leave it be until they upgrade the components, and then they'll do a slight refresh to the design and fix any minor problems.
Anything major, such as exploding screens, or malfunctioning GPUs will definitely be taken care of by apple. Just be sure you baby the machine for a while, because if there is any sign of abuse(ANY!) they won't fix your screen. That goes for pretty much all notebook manufactureres.
