    Dear all,

When I play video on youtube or other websites, there are large black side bars on 1280x800 resolution. I was wondering if this is normal ? Is there any way to fix it (besides lowering the resolution?

    thanks,
    claus

This is normal, it's because the videos themselves are in a different aspect ratio than your screen (for example, imagine the video to be square shaped and your screen to be rectangular shaped. The square will not be able to perfectly fit inside the rectangle). If you forced the videos to fill your entire screen, the image will stretch and everything will look distorted.
