I've been working in Pages and enjoying the program greatly. However I noticed when I saved a document in Pages and also in Word that the Word document was much smaller in size than was the Pages document, 127 KB in Word and 627 KB in Pages. I then checked some other documents and found the same pattern.
Is this normal? Does Pages demand more space to save than does Word? Although it's not that big of a deal right now if hard drive space becomes an issue it could be problematic.
Thanks.

depends how you save it.... are you saving previews?

I noticed this too. I made a pages document in Pages for iPad...added a picture. final size was around 2MB. when I opened it on my windows computer and resaved it, the file sized dropped almost in half.

I went back and checked about Preview. I did have it checked, so I turned it off, re-saved it, and the file size was still the huge size. It wouldn't stop me from using Pages (the more I use it the more I like that program!), but it was a curious little thing to note.

I never noticed it before but you are correct. I wonder what is taking up the space?
Larger file size on Pages?
