Leopard users, run your software update. 10.5.5 has been releaced, with mainly some minor bug fixes. Installed and no issues for me.

Apple's support notes claims "extensive" graphics improvements so it'll be interesting to see what comes out of it. Maybe CoD4, UT3, and Gears of War can finally come out. -
No problem here either.

I have no idea what is going on but my growl notifications for Mail.app are flying in without any stuttering at all. On 10.5.4 having 30 hit at a time could slow things down. Not happening on 10.5.5. Haven't noticed anything else changed just yet but will hammer the system later on to try break things after a backup.
-
I can't help but wonder if "extensive graphics enhancements" means they've potentially under clocked the 8600m GT in MacBook Pro's, due to the recent faulty GPU's.
Oh well, mine's a year old and survived playing Bioshock, Crysis and a few other demanding games. If those didn't blow my GPU, nothing will.
Edit: It stuck a "MobileMe" in the system preferences. Whatever that is. -
No major issues here, everything running nicely. Athough when I updated my wifes macbook this morning, upon reboot I got a strange grey screen with a disk icon to asking me to select the start up disk... there is only one hard drive and no bootcamp etc, so very strange that it asked.

10.5.4 again gave me probs in vista
i hope 10.5.5 smoothens it
as far as mac os experience goes.......every update has made it better only for me -
-

i dunno how the mac update affects that -
MY MBA seems more stable and snappy with the latest update.

Thanks for the notice. Downloading updates now. It looks like it's going to take a few hours. Quicktime alone is going to take 24 minutes. My guess is that Apple's severs are swamped. If this fixes the GPU issues, I will be much happier. I'm not a gamer so they can make it as slow as they can. I'm hoping that there's a fix for Windows XP too as my MBPs are all dual boot.
-
For me everything seems to be normal. I have not noticed any changes. It actually downloaded quit fast on my schools network. So i am all happy.
-
It's been an hour and 20 minutes and I've downloaded about a quarter of the updates. There are updates for quite a few other software packages getting downloaded too. The actual Mac OSX download just started and the projected time is 2 hours. Our company network is pretty fast. It might just be California getting to work.
-
The update took about 4 hours to download at work. It took about 30 minutes from my apartment though it was at 5:00 AM. I see no difference in operating temperatures of the CPU and GPU with the update. I also updated my son's system. Update seems fine; no problems with it.
-
Im just curious what fix are you looking for on Windows XP?
I think Windows XP works great on my MacBook Pro 17 with Bootcamp.
I havent had any issues. -
Little faster but all good

-
-

10.5.3 was the most stable for me when i use vista
for mac os x.......every update has made it better n better -
No problems here either. It's fantastic.
-
I didn't see anything new until I tried to print something from my laptop in the university library using a VPN connecting. For some reason, it's not compatible anymore.
-
its due to intel chipset driver problem
1) Download and install the LATEST Bootcamp update for Vista
2) Download and install the LATEST Intel Chipset Drivers
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Product_Filter.aspx?ProductID=2800&lang=eng
3) Go to Program and Features, Click on "Repair" Boot Camp Services
This should completely fix all your horrible "freezing" problems! -
gotta be vista then
Ill let you know if it helps
