Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer just confirmed during today's earnings call that Mac OS 10.7 is due to hit the Mac App Store tomorrow.

I still think that there will be some difficulties connecting and downloading due to immense network traffic. we'll see I suppose.

Good thing I didn't buy my macbook last week and waited for Lion... I'll just enjoy it pre-installed on it :)

Preinstalled instead of upgraded is a really good idea. My MacBook Pro came with Leopard, and I upgraded to Snow Leopard, and it's been a little glitchy and buggy ever since. People who had Snow Leopard right from the factory look at me like I'm crazy when I say that; they don't have the same issues.

That's weird and nice to read about :) Hopefully Lion helps you out even though it's an upgrade for you. Good luck on that! Meanwhile, I'll wait until Friday to make my purchase just in case any hardware updates lol

Naw, I was going to leave Snow Leopard on the MBP. One OS upgrade was enough for me ;) and Lion doesn't offer me anything that I'm really excited about. Plus, I'm saving up for my next machine right now, so I don't want to put any more money into the MBP. See the sig...I fell in love with an Asus G74 after poking around with it today. Dramatic change from the MBP in just about every way, but I think it'll fit my priorities better.

Nice! Just googled that PC and I gotta say that it's a MONSTER lol And yeah, it's pretty expensive, but it looks like it's worth it ;) Good luck in buying it!

TBH, buying a new Mac with Lion preinstalled isn't as good of an idea as buying a Snow Leopard Mac. SL is fully seasoned and runs all the current Mac apps. Lion may still need a couple of software updates to correct some small issues. At least with a SL Mac you get a free upgrade to Lion so you'll have both OS's. :)

Your right about the bugs and those kind of issues at first, but there's nothing to do now lol Just hang on I guess untill the fixes :)

Fingers crossed if my Mac is qualified for the upgrade. Btw, is there anyway to make that hideous mobile me icon disappear in the menu bar? I checked in the login items and it is not there in startup items so can't delete it there.

hmm.. I'm trying to remember what that was... was something like holding down Alt or Cmd or one of those keys and dragging the MobileMe icon up there off and it'll poof.

If it's at the top task bar Cmd and drag it anywhere on the desktop and poof...
