I am relatively new to OS X. I know with Windows most software will work on newer versions when release but sometimes there are software that are not compatible. When Lion comes out is this something I have to worry about. The list of software of concern is:

    Microsoft Office 2011
    Yahoo IM
    Skype
    Disc Warrior
    MainMenu
    Paragon NTFS
    VLC Player

Has anyone tried any of this software with Lion?

While there are problems with some software when a new version comes out... most programs work just fine. Ones that don't work usually are patched very quickly. Utility types are usually the most concern.. like Paragon, and Disc Warrior.

I haven't tried any software in Lion except stuff I make... along with many other developers, we find problems and fix them during the Preview versions, so problems are usually fixed by release day.
