I think it's been a year now that the VX has came out and the kernel panics started. A year ... and still no updates/patches? Is anyone aware of anything out there?
And please don't say steermouse... I shouldn't have to pay $15 to have my mouse running.
And uninstalling LCC and using a mac driver is out of the question too, cuz it reduces my beautiful mouse to a $7 mouse than you can buy from Chinatown.
Hmph, guess steermouse might be my only option if there is still no help...

I believe 2.3.1 solves this issue.
-
? LCC has been updated 3-4 times in the past year. I think the problem was solved in 2.2.2 (or was that 2.2.1?).
In any case, 2.3.1 is fine, although I'm not quite pleased with the direction they took the button customization. -
How am I supposed to find which version of LCC I've installed? It doesn't indicate it anywhere. -
Go to System Profiler and look under Preference Panes.
-
Let's see if the new LCC works... -
Is there a way to uninstall 2.2.2? I checked library > Application Support > Logitech, but I don't see any uninstall programs.
-
Just delete this: /Library/PreferencePanes/Logitech Control Center.prefPane
Or if you want to be sure, you can use AppDelete->Files->Preference Panes->LCC
Or just try installing the new version - it'll probably automatically upgrade it. -
Yaaay, no more kernel panics with 2.3.1...
but wait...
yes, wait, life is not a Cinderella story, and neither is logitech!
I now get 10 second lags when i "wake" up my mouse when it's been inactive for a while. The cursor moves, but the buttons don't work.
Great, 1 step forward, half a step back ... and I say half a step because I'd rather live with a 10 second lag than constant kernel panics.
Any idea how to resolve this issue? -

I think I have a similar 2-3 second lag, but mine isn't 10 seconds...
Not that big of a deal though. My VX revolution's Hyperscrolling has also died. (Apparently the axel breaks in time, and the rubber grinds along the bottom...) Going to be faxing a copy of my receipt to them and they'll be sending me a new one (apparently they don't even want my old one back). Fax! Ugh, annoying how they don't take email. -
Hah better luck than with me. My MBP won't come out from sleep without a kernel panic with the latest LCC 2.3.1. That's with Leopard. I even did a fresh install and it still panics like a mad thing with the software installed, coming out of sleep.
-
Unlike the previous version, I haven't had a single kernel panic since installing 2.3.1. It's just that 10-second lag (actually, 15-seconds) which is annoying... not that I don't waste 100x15seconds everyday on other useless issues -
I was also getting kernel panics with 2.2.2. rather than trying out 2.3.1, I just switched to steermouse. as much as I love logitech's hardware, their software sucks!

Someone needs to port Steermouse to Windows. I can't imagine it would be that difficult. -
Wait a minute, it all makes sense now! -
Well, I have the same problem as you in 2.3.1.
Just downloaded 2.4.0 - no clue if it fixes the problem or not yet, but it's worth a try anyway. -
-
Logitech Control Center 2.4.0 for Mac OS X. The file says lcc231.zip, but it's actually lcc240.zip.
-
-
Hmmmm. It works for me in both Firefox and Safari. Let's try another method. Go to Logitech.com and click Support (at the top). Then click the Mac OS X Finder image. Does that work?
-
starting the process from the beginning doesn't work either. Must be speed download: i deleted the application just today. Perhaps if I restart my computer it'll work.
-
It's on VersionTracker (Description): lcc240.zip (Direct Download)
