I have a Sandisk MP3 player (I know, I probably shouldn't even admit that on here!) that I had pre-Mac and I have to convert all movie formats to *.MOV before my MP3 player can play them for me. The Sandisk software is NOT Mac compatible. I don't really want to go back to Windows or put Windows on my Mac. Do any of you techie toy collectors have any suggestions of software I can put on my Macbook Pro with OS X v 10.4 that will do misc conversions for me?
Thanks in advance!

I guess it may take some work to install all codecs, but it seems like a good tool. I am installing it as well and I will test it soon. BTW, I think Sandisk have nice DAPs, I bought a Sansa for a friend of mine and tested it for a day. Ironic that you have to convert them to .mov, an Apple format, to play the videos though... -
Yeah, I find it ironic as well. Especially after reading the FAQ on Sandisk's website saying NOT to format the DAP on a Mac or it won't work.
I wonder if that means somehow the Mac will ruin it for good, or if it just means use a PC to fix it after you screw it up. I guess I'll have to install the thing on my hubby's Windows PC too, just to have it accessible. I assume I can just hook it up to my Mac as a USB storage device and drag files onto it (as far as MP3 goes). I'll probably just use it for MP3 for the first little while that it takes for me to get used to it. This is a big step up from CD's for me.
Looking for Mac compatible movie conversion software...
