The Notebook Review forums were hosted by TechTarget, who shut down them down on January 31, 2022. This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I'm looking for a video converter that can convert .flv format to .avi or mpeg. Can someone please suggest a freeware for mac?

    If the files aren't too huge, there are a number of online places that do this. You upload the source file and set some parameters, and they give you a download link or email you the conversion.

    If it's a video from youtube, there are a number of online converters which will convert and download the vide for you. A popular one is: http://vixy.net/

    how about converting avi files for my ipod?

    can't find a decent one (handbrake doesn't work)

    tried videomonkey - didn't work either
