Originally looking at Sony and still considering it, not that I had OS X, but I had to stop by this forum and ask a few questions. I will use the laptop to watch movies, streams. I know Apple doesnt support some windows software I use like Newbin Pro. Why would I buy a Macbook Pro to bootcamp into Windows just to use Windows programs? Im not sure that makes sense. Here are other questions to get me started.

    1. How do streams look? How many streaming softwares like sopcast are available?

    2. No hdmi out, so do they sell a cable at the apple store that will convert and plug into an hdmi cable

    3. Why cant you maximize your windows?

Let me add, more as I go along.

    - Can you use a Mac with gotomypc?

One reason I would even consider a mac is due to the fact that its a form of Unix which is what I'm on daily.

    - Can you install linux with boot camp? Can you tri-boot?

    1: no idea

2: yes and on the 2010 refresh audio will work through the mini DP port with the correct adaptor.

3: just the way the UI is made

4: yes gotomypc works, so does teamviewer

5: yes, not the easiest but yes. drivers/Kexts can be a pain though especially with any models with switchable graphics.

    1. SopCast supposedly runs under Wine fine... though i haven't tried it myself.

    2. there are a number of 3rd party mini-DP to HDMI adapters, yes

    3. there are 3rd party utilities to turn the green zoom button into a maximize button

    4. there is Mac support for gotomypc

    5. little reason to run Linux natively when you have OSX.... installing and running Linux isn't too hard, but setting up a tri-boot can be a pain
