So... My friend ordered his MB on Tuesday. They sent him an email giving him a 2 week delay.
So either shortages, repairs, or perhpas c2d (which I doubt highly).

Anyway, just thought I'd let you guys know if you're ordering, you'll have a delay (in the US).

if it comes with a 7200RPM drive, that might be it also. HP and Dell orders have reportedly been delayed because of a shortage.

Its because Apple reported they are behind, its why Apple is reported as being in the market for a 3rd supplier to make MB's for them because it's so insanely popular right now.

I, like hollow, doubt its because of C2D, apple has been saying this for a while now that because of the huge demand they are having trouble filling orders. In any case Asustek and that Q something? company must be reaping in profits from Apple. ;) I'm sure both factories are working as fast as they can.

He got the 80 gig drive.
It seems it's probably due to lack of product and probably tryign to fix the shutdown problems on the new units.

Well, even know you canceled a Dell, don't worry it's worth it. :) Gives you something to look forward too at least.

Yes, I am just fine with this delay. The "delay" I had with Dell was that they cancelled my order twice (before being confirmed) and then lied to me by saying it was in production. Then, after several calls to dell (all 30 min+ waiting time), I find there was no order at all, and check my bank statement and the money wasn't touched. I hated that. So I orderd my MacBook as soon as I could. And got it confirmed within 30 mins. That's what gave me the peace-of-mind in this delay. :)
