I'm not sure how that post helps but according to Apple:
The 15" would last slightly longer.

Do you have a MBP or you are just informing us about the battery life of your HP?

    the HP?

in all honesty, the difference in battery life between the two is not massive, but in nearly every case the 15" should get slightly better life. mainly due to the LED backlit screen.

I would think Apple will be updating the 17" model to an LED backlit screen soon. . . but what do I know.

the 17" MBP gets about the best battery life of any 17" notebook that I have seen though.

doing regular tasks I have seen 3.5-nearly 4 hrs.

it really just comes down to the screen brightness situation.

Apple's numbers are slightly exaggerated, and I don't think he asked for them as well.

All manufacturer based battery estimates are exaggerated. I just provided that chart as a reference between the general battery differences.

He's asking about a Macbook Pro though. Not about an HP.
