How durable is the MBP for constant travel and luggage abuse?

Well I know you are looking at a Thinkpad as well, and I will tell you that while the MBP is rather durable, it is not nearly as durable as a Thinkpad. If you use it a lot, it will scratch and there is a chance it could dent. However, if you are relatively careful, the MBP is plenty durable enough, but it's no Thinkpad.

Yeah its pretty durable, above average definitely. I carry mind around in an Incase sleeve and it does a good job of protecting it. I carry it with me everyday and it still has not made a single creaking sound.

If durability is top priority the thinkpad is better but the macbook pro is also very good when it comes to durability/design.

Really? I thought a MBP is about the same as a Thinkpad. In some ways I think a Thinkpad's durability is overrated.

same here...all those adds i see of poeple throwing their thinkpads out of 2 story buildings, surviving a fire, months of being buried under snow, im a little skeptical.

but they are well built, no doubt. but its not like somebody is going to abuse such an expensive piece of equipment. ANY laptop can be durable and last a long time if its taken well care of.
