It's still unclear. Everybody thought they'd be updated at Macworld, so everything is pure speculation at this point. It can be said with some degree of certainty, though, that the MBP will be updated somewhat soon(a couple months).

Generally, there's always been a January refresh of the Powerbooks/Macbook Pros, but they've also more often than not been released at Macworld, which didn't happen this time. Then again, one year, Apple released on January 30, and last year, there wasn't a January refresh at all, so...
In other words, no one knows for sure. Looking at past history, it appears that Apple's never done a February refresh of the MBP, but honestly I don't think past history means much here
Just wait until the end of January if you can, and then buy. -
God i cant wait till they update the mbp. No more "When will they update the macbook pro?" Yeah t will still happen but not as much until june.

Some supposed leaked details of new MBPs, even if these rumors are true Apple might delay the release date for whatever reason. -
If you having a working computer right now, I would wait 2-3 weeks before you buy. They might release or information might come out that says otherwise..(later this year). In which case you weight your options and then make a decision.

No one really knows. However, one is probably imminent as the last update was in June 2007, and new Penryn processors have arrived so the MBP should be updated with those soon.
