I checked quick, but didn't see a thread for this. Sorry if it's a repeat. I just recently updated to the 1.2 battery update, although it was way overdue. My MBP went bonkers, and the battery took a dive. Perhaps it was already dying but I didn't recognize it. Prior to the update, it shut off a few times with out standby or reserve power and I didn't think much of it because I was running Windows. The kicker was the charge light on my mag-safe light was flipping from orange to green every few seconds. My battery was 16 months old, 31 cycles, at 40%. Then I lost 10% health in a week with half an our mobile use. 1700mah left.

Apple has a replacement program I wasn't aware of that extends the battery warranty if you purchased with in a certain time frame. Between February 2006 and April 2007. 300 cycles should leave you with 80% health

Long story short: Apple replaced it after I visited a Mac Genius. Brand new battery with 5400mah.. yee haw. :D

I definitely need to get myself to the store soon. I'm at around 50%, 79 cycles, battery is 8 months old.

I was reading through the calibration steps on apple's site and it appears to be time consuming. You almost have to allocate half a day to do it properly.

I just checked mine (BatteryUpdater.bundle - Get Info - Version) and it's at 1.3. 1.2 is way out of date, or am I looking at the wrong thing?

Edit: Disregard my comment; on 10.4 or later, it will appear as 1.3.

I was confused about that too.. and originally typed 1.3, but you're right.. It says 1.2, and appears to be 1.3. Anyhow, my new battery works great now.
