    Hey everyone,

I've recently begun to reconsider purchasing the low end MBP and canceling my pre-order for the Asus V2s.

Just a question about installing an OEM copy. If my MBP does experience issues within the first 14 days and I have to get a replacement, what would I do with the OEM copy?

Would it possible to get Apple to swap the HDD into the new MBP? What if I have a HDD problem? I read somewhere that you can call Microsoft to get the OEM copy re-registered, but I am skeptical of this.

Windows would be installed via Bootcamp, if it makes any difference.

    Thanks for any help!

You probably aren't required to register with Microsoft for 30 days.

Yeah just wait to register your copy of windows until after 14 days. However, if something goes wrong after that then I'm not sure what to do.

Well this problem will not be unique to MBP's. Any laptop which you buy comes with the OEM edition of Windows. You can call Microsoft to get your new copy activated explaining that it is a warranty replacement.

Well MS might not be so willing to reactivate his copy since you're only supposed to install OEM copies on the computer the disk came with.

Yep, i am assuming he bought a fresh copy of Vista OEM with his MBP. He cant anyway use the OEM disc from any other computer to install windows on this one.
