March 1st!
-
Yay, I think.
? -
There is a heap of rumour-like information floating around the internet.
Ads containing new-look MBP, MBP becoming cheaper in general, the 17" getting a special graphics card, all of them getting lighter, thinner, no rough cut your wrist edges.
This is exciting stuff -
I'm going to assume what you meant to say was that the MacBook Pro's are out of stock at your local best buy...
-
LOL, it took me a while to decipher what he was trying to say.
"MBP are OOS in my locao BB" sounds like some strange language. -
made sense to me. Glad to hear it!!! Let's see them! faster faster!!
-
On Apple's website (US version), it now shows shipping estimates as 3 to 5 business days. Before, it was listed as 24 hours. This is now a certainty that a refresh is eminent.

With ipad2 launching next week Tuesday, and intel light peak launching this Thursday, do you guys think mbp13 will also be updated this Thursday? Or March?
-
I'm betting Thursday. Apple will want to thwart Google's eminent Android 3.0 release anyway they can, since some are thinking it's the iPad killer. Only thing is, Apple's going to suffer big time in my opinion, based on what I've seen already with the Honeycomb previews.

They are still saying that thursdays the day for the refresh, so i'm still betting that it will be tomorrow. And if any of the things i've read are true it will be a disappointing refresh. they are saying a second gen core i5 with only intel graphics for the 13" MBP, 320 HD, 4GB ram. Pretty lame if thats what it ends up being.
Oh well I bought my 2010 MBP last week and love it so I don't plan on getting a new one anyways. -
Why is it disappointing? The CPU gets a huge performance boost, super fast encoding ability, almost the same graphics performance as before. The weight is suppose to be lighter too. And with Lightpeak, although nobody have any uses for it at the moment. I don't think it's lame. I think MBP13 in 2010 was realy lame. Core2Duo? LOL. I'm thinking on getting the new MBP13 this time. It'll be my first OS X product.
edit-- I change my position, I'm disappointed too after seeing leaked specs of new MBP13. It's same physical size, same heavy weight. Although I like the glossy screen, it's the same old low resolution screen. I'll look what BTO offers. The weight and screen resolution is important for me, so I was expecting the new MBP13 to be half pound lighter then the current one. That's why I was considering Sony Z, and then Sony SA, then changed plans for a MBP13. Now it looks like MBP13 is just a CPU spec bump + thunderbolt. I think the name is lame too. I hope I don't have to wait for 2012 as the rumors seem legit. -
It looks like March 2nd is the day of the refresh now, since Apple is hosting an event then: Apple's holding an iPad 2 event on March 2nd... we'll be there live! -- Engadget
-
That refers to the iPad 2 introduction.
The MBP refresh is a separate occasion. Tomorrow? -
I guess that the MBP's would still be announced tomorrow... but there hasn't been any official word anywhere about that. The iPad announcement does seem likely that they'll make a mention of the new MBP's, especially if they're introducing this Light Peak connection technology.
Side note: I'd like to see an MBP with a Radeon graphics option rather than NVidia. AMD/ATI have really stepped up their game with the GPU options they have on the desktop front.
MBP are OOS in my locao BB, refresh is on the way!!
