140 is nothing to worry about... wait to worry when it gets over 200

Download SMC fan control and run the fans at 6000 RPM. Even while playing SC2 on Ultra I don't go above 75 celsius.

Also if you want you can download graphics card status. When you are web browsing set it to only the IGP. This will keep your temperature below 40 to 50 degrees celsius. When the Discrete card comes on it instantly raises my temp to above 60. That will save you a lot of heat.

Also 140 is hot for regular use.

    try to keep it under 90 C (194 F).

Make sure its on a cool hard surface when pushing it hard.. nothing soft... nothing blocking the back vent in the hinge at all... this can cause heat build up.

SMCfancontrol is nice.. at the minimum you can actively watch the temps and the fan speeds, and if you do not like the temps, wether they are causing a problem or not, you can manually choose to spin the fans faster and keep it cooler. Having a fan wear out a few years earlier than it should is better than heat damage to the logic board... fans are much much cheaper to replace.

my ambient temps range from 13-30 (Brazils winter is a joke)

And I have been consistently getting the 40C ish temps on OSX and 50C ish on windows 2008 R2. Basically my ambient temps dont matter that much.

This is doing surfing the web and stuff, idling it gets to 35c (OSX) and 50c (windows)

Gaming/load 80-90c (OSX, it depends on the action, the maximum I got was 90c) and 90-100c (windows)

For example today I was bored, and played the campaign for empire at war, I got 98c max temps on the cpu. The game ran flawless no hiccups at all, no slow downs of any kind. In my older pc the P7350 wasnt able to handle end game battles that well (fps at start 100+ at the end 20+), however this i5 2415m can handle that pretty well (this game although its maxed is more cpu dependent, since I had a 4670m which stomps this HD3000 that I have now)
