tmacfan4321, I will let you know how it goes. Glad you concur with my choice.

By the way, before submitting the order on the Apple website, I had tried to purchase it at the local Apple store: no way. They claimed that Hi-Res is available only on i7, at the Apple Stores.

    Oh well, time to wait.

    My new MBP is arrived.

First impressions are very good: very responsive and quick for general use (still have to put it under pressure, though). I am not experiencing any problem with virtual box and generally fans are rotating at 2000 rpm (which should be the minimum speed).

I have noticed that the dedicated nvidia GPU is on when virtualbox is loaded. Pretty much always. For light use it is off and battery life is significantly increased.

Still have to check exactly how many hours with a full charge.

Hi-Res display with anti-glare: very much recommended; stunning.

    CONS (so far):
A small subtlety, which is worth being mentioned (since it might refer to a not so welcomed shift in a 'cheap' philosophy' by Apple) the DVD drive has a 1024Kb cache (vs the 2048Kb of my MBP summer 2007).

The USB ports, as mentioned anywhere, are really close together: pretty easy to find a peripheral occupying both of them (bad!).

Very sharp aluminum edges (but unlikely to be cut, I guess).

With the GPU on the battery will be drained way fast (still it should last 4/5 hours).

If you may have any questions, just let me know. Should I find anything of interest, I will keep you posted.

I don't think so. Saying that there's an increase in capacity is the same thing as saying that there's an increase in capacity.

Also, we are talking about SSDs and not HDDs if you want to be specific about it.
