If you can live without the latest, greatest, the OEM version of Office 2003, Small Business can be had for just a little over $225 at newegg.

Don't buy Office 2004 (the current version for Mac OS X). It runs under Rosetta and is absolutely horrible [in my opinion]. I would say wait for Office 2008 (the new Mac OS X version) and then evaluate the differences between that and Office 2007 (the current Windows version). That's assuming you are willing to run Windows on your Mac. As of now though, Office 2007 or 2003 (both for Windows) are the best Office versions.

That's too bad. Office 2008 has to be better than 2004, assuming it can't get any worse. And Office 2008 will not run under Rosetta. You're right about the expected January release though.

Yeaps, they're expecting to launch Office for Mac 2008 at Macworld in early January. Although I don't know if they'll hit that deadline.

Personally, I don't know if I want Office for Mac 2008 anymore...the ribbon and the menus take up so much space! :p With my MacBook only going 1280x800, it will be hard to use.

well if you are using a powerpc like me, then office 2004 would actually be a better choice. but then the poster is using a macbook so, nvm

You can set the ribbon to autohide (at least in the Windows version), so it's not a huge problem.

No problem :). Except if you actually use the Test Drive you won't be able to simply uninstall then reinstall the Test Drive again.

    yeah you're right

    * The Family Pack Software License Agreement allows you to install and use one copy of the Apple Software on up to a maximum of five (5) Apple-labeled computers at a time as long as those computers are located in the same household and used by persons who occupy that same household. By “household” we mean a person or persons sharing the same housing unit such as a home, apartment, mobile home or condominium. This license does not extend to students who reside at a separate on-campus location or to business or commercial users.

Oh well anyway, is it really worth it?
