This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Hey Guys,

    I'm running leopard 10.5.6 with the latest version of Mac mail and i've setup my bigpond (australia) email pop server with it. It's receives messages and data perfectly, works very well, however I can send emails out but it takes a very long time to connect to the server then when it has established it sends it off very fast. It's just the initial connecting which is time consuming. I've setup this email with thunderbird and it sends off messages very quickly. I'm wondering what's wrong? Has anyone come across this problem before?
