Since buying my mac I have been constantly annoyed with the way that OSX handles mouse movement acceleration. My question (or rather plea) is if someone knows of a program that changes the movement to a more PC-like fashion. If not, oh well, but I feel that the way that Pcs handle mouse acceleration is just more consistent.

stealthsniper96 What Was I Thinkin'?
Have you tried changing the settings in system preferences?
-
Yes i have, I would recommend this article:
http://db.tidbits.com/article/8893
and this is a good fix:
http://www.usboverdrive.com/USBOverdrive/News.html
Btw, the program works great and my mouse is now easier to handle
-
Thanks for sharing that with us!
-
I think usboverdrive is shareware, but if you search through the apple forums here youll find someone recently who had a similiar complaint, and they found a fix that was free i think. So search for ouse acceleration and you should find the thread.
-
Give SteerMouse a go. Its unfortunately Shareware, but I actually paid the $20 for a license and haven't looked back. Apple needs to fix the mouse drivers!
-
I actually like the way OS X handles mouse movement. But they should really have an option to turn that acceleration thing off.
-
I think everybody should go here and complain about the mighty mouse.
http://www.apple.com/feedback/
Just click your computer and complain about the mighty mouse and its driver.
I already have and if enough people say something they will take care of it.
Make sure you say what you have like [wired/wireless] mouse and be brief at the same time. -
I tried both steermouse and usboverdrive and they both suck.
All it does is make the speed of the mouse faster. That is not what we are talking about.
We are talking about the response time. When I move the mouse it responds a split second too late but it doesnt do that on windows with bootcamp. Thats what they have to fix. Those shareware softwares dont do anything. -
Actually he wasn't talking about the response time. He was talking about the acceleration in OS X. As in, the faster you move the mouse the more distance it will move on the screen, and the slower you move it the less it will travel, even though physically you are moving the mouse the same distance on your table.
My USB mouse works fine, it responds right when I move it, all the time. Apple mice are just worthless crap... -
Oh, then nevermind.
