Not legally. Go to an Apply store! They have all the computers laid out for people to use. I think they even have tutorials there.
or google, its quite a process though that may mess up your computer... -
You can get Ubuntu or Linux they are sort of like OS X. But no you cannot get OS X for free, and even if you did you cant run it on a non mac computer without doing some tweaking.

Ok, cheers for the quick reply, yeah i dont think we have an Apple Store around, so next time i go into the city, i'll go then.

No os x for free. Os x must also be accompanied with the appropriate hardware in this case a mac.

You can test OSX Server for free, but it's not exactly the same thing...close enough to see if you like the feel of it though:

They only way to see if you like OS X is to use it on a Mac.
-
That's true, where you get the "real" feeling of OS X.
Including the trackpad, features like Spaces and Expose, etc.

os x is a very stable o.s. If only it supported windows games natively.. sigh...
Hope Open Cl changes os x's fate. -
Yep, Snow Leopard has a bright future, with OpenCL, and the many new features that it brings along.

That would be great! I do wish Apple would push gaming on the Mac like they do for the iPhone and iPod Touch. But TBH, gaming is really not a priority when people buy computers, it's only a priority to the geeks here. Most people use their computers for a lot more than gaming. Out of all my friends that have computers, none of them are even occasional gamers even though they have an Xbox.

Yes, steve jobs did not specify the mbp and macs line as gaming houses. Even i use mine rarely for gaming during the university period.
