This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    I just read on MacRumors about http://www.macoffice2008.com. The site shows a preview of Mac Office 2008. Currently the site is loading really slow, but the MacRumors article has some YouTube links showing various features thanks to "Peace":
    Hopefully there will be an Office 2008 Test Drive available so we can try this software first-hand.

    Everything loads OK for me, except the flash videos. I think those are what "Peace" linked on YouTube. Should I make some screenshots of the Website?

    That's what's happening. I get all the links and the descriptions, but none of the Flash videos are displaying, so I'm staring at nothing :D.

    I'm still wondering why microsoft doesn't make the same version for windows and MAC. I mean, Windows has 2003 & 2007 while MAC has 2004&2008. WTF?

    Haha, Office `08 refuses to show itself to the public.

    When I was checking out the features, I thought it said 'Smartass Graphics', not 'SmartArt Graphics'.

    Silly me :D.

    Its basically the same Office suite, but with different branding so its easier to distinguish between them.

    The features between Office 2003 and Office for Mac 2004 are basically the same (there's some minor differences, but its mostly all the same). And Office 2007 will share the main features of Office 2008.

    Didn't I just answer your question?

    It basically is the same version (of course, they're written for their specific operating system), its just branded different to make it easier to distinguish between the two.

    [Unnecessary] Update: The www.macoffice2008.com website's videos now work properly. I know you're excited about that :rolleyes:. Originally I was missing a link to the "Publishing Layout View" video. Now all the videos are linked in the first post and their names reflect the website's titles to avoid confusion. Also, the MacOffice2008 YouTube "Sneakpeek Site" link is provided which has all the same videos.
