Couldn't the lighting just be different in the two photos? It looks different to them. Doesn't help that the MBPs are taken at two different angles.
-
Those pics tell you nothing, and I mean nothing.
-
If anything the LED display looks more 'green' and has less accurate colors...
Then again, it's seems like the laptops are at different angles to the light source and the camera is at a different angle to the laptops... Such a helpful comparison eh? -

As Shania Twain would say.. "oh.. so you're a new mac with an LED screen...that don't impress me...much"
-
Those pics are garbage and the LED screen actually looks worse.
-
You cannot tell screen quality by pictures of the screen. There are too many variables involved, like the fact that everyone is viewing them on a different monitor, or the quality of the photo taken, etc. This is a waste.
-
go to an Apple store, compare a 15" to a 17" or a MacBook.
-
I merged the two threads, as they are on the same subject.
Thanks for the info sp00n -
gawddddd.... who ever took those pics at enGadget should learn how to use the white balance.

Wait, so the one on the right is the LED macbook pro? It looks pretty yellowed and a a decent amount dimmer.

No matter what you do, the Merge function, merges the threads based on the chronological order, so there was not much of a choice
-
The left one is CCFL? Oh-my-god! The whites on the LED do look crisp.

--I'm going to correct myself here now. I was reading engadget and their comments are right: it's impossible to tell if it's a good reproduction of white since the monitors aren't both properly calibrated and profiled. Oh well. -
Please refrain from double-posting unless it's bumping the thread up.
