    Mac Pro in stores?

    Does Apple store have actual mac pro's in stock? Is the box HUGE? What kind of configurations do they stock? Anyone buy a Mac Pro in an apple store?

    Heading up tomorrow for the 30" cinema...and gonna look at the mac pro.

    1. yes, new 15" and probably non-updated 17".
    2. barely bigger than the notebooks themselves.
    3. stock configs only, as also available on Apple.com
    4. Lots of folks around here probably have - what in particular do you want to know?

    Yes the box is huge. Well because the mac pro is pretty big too.

    I want one of those chairs.

    I've got my Mac Pro box in my room here (since my Mac Pro is one thing that I would like to keep safe in transport), and it is giant.

    Right now if you are considering a Mac Pro, you might consider that a refresh may or may not be around the corner. So if you need it now... get it. If not, a few weeks might not hurt.

    Yeah thats the problem with apple...they constantly seem to reinvent something and then I end up wanting it!!

    Do they keep various combinations in stores for the Mac Pro Desktops? Or is it a better idea to order stuff online?

    Maybe try phoning them. I'd think mac pros aren't something that people go in and buy that often in the store. They usually customize it, so that wouldnt be possible with the store version.
