Im a student currently in my final years of higher school education (In Australia) and i want to buy an Apple Computer for note taking etc.
Im planning on buying :
iBook 1.33GHz G4 14"
768Mb Ram
60GB HDD
Combo Drive
And also, i need to connect it to a Windows 2000 Terminal Server, using RDC... would anyone know how well it runs in terms of performance and connectivity?
Also, I would like to have Virtual PC 7 with WIN XP Pro... so i can also use windows based applications... how would that run on this system?
Thanks for any help![]()

With regards to Windows connectivity, I strongly suggest you visit http://www.macwindows.com/ which is a great resource for questions like this. There is even a section over there on Virtual PC 7. The general consensus is that Virtual PC 7 is a slight improvement over version 6 in terms of speed, but it certainly is not a speed demon! I guess it depends on the types of windows applications you wish to run in Virtual PC, the more ram you have, the better. I use mine for checking compatibility of files with MS Office and AutoCAD before sending them to windows based clients, for which Virtual PC is ideal. If you want to use Virtual PC for windows games, don't even go down that road...[

Hi, yes Mac's are capable of being connected via VPN. However, it took me a week to get my Windows PC to recongize my Mac. PC's are not good at recongnizing Mac's. If rely on a Windows 2000 Server, get a Windows based laptop
