new Mac user here. I was wondering if Mac has Plug and play capability? Specifically with card reader. I don't plug my card reader to my MBP when they are not in use (Why the he#@ MBP only has 2 USB ports).

Sorry if this is a silly question. I just got my MBP about 4 weeks ago and has been very happy with it.

    Thanks in advance.

Yes, just plug it in and it works. And FYI, it has 3 USB ports.

The 17" MBP has 3 USB ports, but the 15" MBP only has 2.

Does Mac recognize it as a new drive like windows does? I opened Finder and did not see a single new drive.
I have 15" MBP so it only has 2 ports.

Xander, getting excited for next weeks game? I graduated from OSU a while ago. Go Bucks.

When a card is in the reader it should show in finder and on the desktop. If there is no card in the reader nothing will show.

I have a cheap Sandisk 7 in 1 reader. Windows usually recognize about 4 to 5 new drive instantly.

Right, but OS X won't show them until a card is inserted.
