When you attach any disk or thumbdrive to a Mac, the OS writes a couple of hidden files and folders to the disk, "trash" folder, "spotlight" folder, etc.

Is there any way to configure preferences such that the OS will not write any of these files?

Yes, I do realize they have purposes, and I will forgo them by not allowing their presence. But a CD does not need them to function. I'm sick and tired of deleting them every time I subsequently insert the disk into a PC (I like a clean disk).
