Well, I would like a light (or lighter) machine... but, again, compared with other notebooks of similar kind I'm having a hard time deciding if the Air is truly better or just as good.

Actually, I ultimately think that if it weren't for the battery and its short/shorter lifespan I would probably get one right now... but, alas, I guess for me it just ain't to be.

Well, what makes you think you won't be sorry to be getting (say for example) a Dell? :p There's that risk there anytime, anywhere. Definitely try it out thoroughly, and choose what you think is best for you :).

I can afford to wait and in doing so I'm hoping for the second iteration of the MBA to have a slightly faster processor (2GHz maybe) and a larger SSD (128GB?) all for a lower price than the current high(er)-end model. Maybe before year end... :)

Wait, wait, wait. That's all we do, for the culture industry owns us. Or you could just get one now and enjoy it. :)

I know about waiting. But I just got my MBP within the last two months. I can (read "should") wait till the end of the year. :)

    Pffft..

I just got my dad Applecare for this MBA. $149 on eBay for the win! :D I feel like with an Air you'd be MAD not to have Applecare.

So is the MBA applecare the same as MBs, MBPs or a new package/SKU specific to the Air?

I think applecare is a no brainer for all macs. The only thing is to not buy it from apple.
