I bought a clear one for my MacBook to protect it.

Has anyone else bought one? What is your experience with it?

I'm partly worried that if dirt gets between the MB and case it will case wear marks, however I do love the way it looks! and it protects the finish from fingerprints.

My friend bought a blue one for his macbook. Before he put it in the clear case, it was all nice and shiny. He removed the clear case a month later and his macbook looked matte instead of glossy in some places.

I've got a black one for my MBP. Dust and grit can get inside and may cause some scratches and wear on it. I take it off and clean it twice a week. I'm not really concerned about if it scratches it though; I got the case for it to stay on the MBP (plus its black, which is what I really wanted anyway)

I've been using one since I got my MBP. It adds a much needed extra level of protection. Heat is not an issue.

Thanks for the info/opinions everyone. To be on the safe side (as someone else suggested), I'll probably clean it once a week to make sure dirt doesn't accumulate between the cover and MB.
