Just as the title states, does anyone know the brand and the read/write of the SSD thats available for MacBook Pros straight from Apple? Also is there TRIM?

If its capacity is a power of 2, it's most likely a Samsung. The newer Samsungs do support TRIM but Apple might not be shipping those. R/W speeds should be 220/200 MB/s R/W but honestly sequential speeds do not matter much in real life.

Samsungs are still good, solid SSDs in most real life situations. They also have very low power consumption and shouldn't be discounted because they aren't as fast as Intel's since they are still much faster than traditional HDDs.
