I have seen it advertise how long the macbook pro battery last. The 17" is 8 hours and 15 and 13 " is 7 hours. I would just want to know those who own a macbookpro. How is you macbook pro last according what it advertise?

I normally just want office work, web surfing, chatting, editing pic and youtubing and little game.

Thanks for your answer in advance :)

What you are doing will depends on how long the battery lasts. Gaming will kill the battery, having blue tooth on, wifi on, back lite, keyboard back lite. Will all effect battery life

so how long your macbookpro last then? if wifi on, keyboard back lite on and surfing?

because i'm wanna know if apple really breakthrough this battery technology really lasting that long. I would appreciate if battery could last 5 hours for wifi surfing and photo editing.

usually a good estimate is to take the advertised battery life and divide it by half. it'll be approximately what you get with keyboard backlight on, wifi on, screen at 50% brightness, and surfing the net with flash ads(no flash video playback though)

**divide it by 4 in the case of windows and bootcamp

You will probably easily get 5 hours. Just don't keep the back lite for the screen on full, and turn off the keyboard back lite or down really low.

for me in actual working situations ( screen at 50% BT and wireless on ) Firefox with 5 or 6 tabs, Word and on occasion VNC ) on my 13 & 15" I average about 3.32 hours and my 17" about the same or slightly longer.

start playing flash videos or anything CPU/GPU intensive ... knock off another hour atleast

My 13" MBP w/ LCD @ 50%, wifi on, BT off, keyboard off or at lowest setting; I usually get 4.5 - 5 hrs. And that's websurfing with about 10-20% flash/webvideo useage which can be a battery drain.
