Hey, so the other day my macbook got wet and it's pretty water logged. All of the sudden, the airport just doesn't show up anymore and when I press f9 the sceens usually back up really fast but now it does it REALLY slowly.
What should I do?
-
How did it get wet and what with? How long did you let it dry out before powering it up again?
Your only bet is to take it to Apple and find out how much your mistake is going to cost you. -
how long ago did it get wet?
what did you do to dry it up?
i would recommend use a hairdryer, (used on my cell phone, not sure if would work for laptops)
and ultimately, take it to apple. -

Water and electronics don't mix. If ever something gets wet, IMMEDIATELY pull the power and battery from the device. You'll need to make sure it's completely dry before powering it up again otherwise you will do damage.
There are many suggestions available on how to dry out electronics from using a hairdryer, a low temperature oven to even a bag of white rice......Google if you're unsure. -
DOes apple care look after accidental damage ?
-
No. Applecare does not cover accidental damage.

but what if he says he doesn't know what happened?and it happened all but itself

Im guessing Apple is not gonna do a thing about it. Your best bet is to wait before it completely dries and hope for the best. I'm pretty sure they (apple) have a thing inside that lets em know it got wet like the way they know when phones get wet so dont even try to lie your way into Apple fixing your macbook.

Indeed Apple has also added spill detectors in new Macbooks:

I'd be very surprised if Apple was the only manufacturer doing this. It's a no brainer......protect yourself from customers who are lying about what happened.

Why don't they put a sensor in that when it detects moisture it instantly shuts down.

If your notebook got wet, the best course of action is to power it down unless it does it on it's own and take it apart ASAP! Rinse the parts with with tap water, then after they are cleaned use distilled water to final rinse to get the minerals off of it.
Water with contaminants will corrode your electronics.
The next step after that is to find the directions to put it back together
Using a hair dryer etc is only a bandage to your new problem. -
Macbook - got wet, won't connect to airport and is very slow
