I've been running Lion for about 1 day now. I notice that the battery life has been terrible. In fact, my notebook has been running A LOT hotter than usual.

Keep in mind, I'm not doing anything intensive. Just some web browsing (not even Hulu)... I keep the display at min brightness and turned off the keyboard backlight.

Any ideas? 82% gives me 2 hours of battery life according to the batt icon. Anywhere else I can look to give more information about what's running in the background?

    Thanks!

I dont' have the same model per se, but I have the MBP13 2.4 GHz. Guessing its almost the same. I noticed higher temps, but battery life is comparable. And when i say higher temps, I mean by 5-10 oC, but its not too bad. Right now, with just Firefox open, I am runing 39 oC, which is the normal temp SL would run.

As for the battery, I have no idea, other than try to calibrate it (apple's website).

What was your battery life before? And did you do a clean install?

On 100% charge, I'd get around 4-5 hrs with everything at minimum.

I didn't do clean install. I do notice that there's an active thread over at the Apple forums with the same issue.

I've done a SMC reset.. So far no changes. Going to give it a few more cycles before I decide whether to go back to SL or not...

    I have a few suggestions:
    - calibrate the battery, as you said.
    - open Activity Monitor and sort the processes by CPU time. Make sure that you have AM configured to list all processes, not just user processes. This will help you identify any abnormally resource-intensive programs.
    - clean out the inside of your laptop for dust and such, just in case.
