Hi, So I have windows XP service pack 2 installed via bootcamp, and I am trying to get my mic to work. But When I went the sound hardware test, and there is a part where you have to speak some lines into a mic, but no matter what I do the program still wouldn't pick up the voice. I am wondering if this is a widespread problem, cause doing a quick search on the internet it shows that a lot of ppl are having the same problem. Please help. Thanks in advance.

You need to set the mic for recording in the Realtek control panel, the little red icon in your taskbar.

It does work for me in XP.

Whoops, just saw your sig. I don't know what kind of soundcard you have, but nevertheless, try your control panel. There should be options for recording and mic levels.

    Cheers!

It could just be a problem with older macs. My mic works fine in XP and everyone I know who uses bootcamp has no problem with theirs.

Well, older Macs (as in PowerPC ones) can't even run Boot Camp...so it can't be that old.
