Just got a new rMBP and it's perfect aside from the fact that when I move it around it creaks and makes this glass-like clinking noise. After searching around and seeing it's somewhat of a widespread issue I found this fix: https://tenonedesign.com/blog/fix-your-macbook-pro-like-a-champ/
Although the article is a bit older, I'm pretty sure it's still the same cause. My question is has anybody had this issue? And does anybody more knowledgeable know if it is actually safe to remove that grounding bar?
Thanks

Leave it on and add a piece of electrical tape over top. over in another forum we have few members who managed to dead short their systems. however ..... in the rMBP's it may be something else as the tape trick didn't work for me and I never solved the issue as that unit got replaced.

thanks definitely won't be removing it then. isn't electrical tape nonconductive though so couldn't putting tape there also cause a short?

Thank you very much, now i understand. One last thing: any idea if I have to worry about the tape/heat? I do game a lot and push this machine to its limits, would that create a potential issue with the tape melting or something?
