I have the Macbook Pro with the switchable 9400/9600 graphics.

Other than changing the video card, does switching between Power saving mode and Higher performance mode do anything else? Because when I use Higher performance mode I notice that everything I do is significantly faster, especially when viewing internet news sites with videos. Pages load faster, and general use seems to be snappier.

I have a vague recollection reading somewhere that the CPU might be downclocked or something in Power saving mode...but I'm not 100% sure.

Just wondering if anyone knows something I don't...

all it does is switch to the 9600...

that will help in many ways... anything that uses the GPU will be faster, as well as anything that uses OpenCL when the GPU isn't heavily used will also be faster.
