I currently have a Macbook Pro, from the mid 2007 batch. The frame around the screen started with a hairline crack at the base of the screen on both sides about a year ago and since has developed into full blown crack on both sides. It seems that the rest of the screen is fine, so I don't want to buy a new one. Does anyone have any knowledge about replacing the bezel (not sure what to call it?) around the screen?

Well AFAIK on my previous white MacBook, the bezel was loose and was coming off so I went to apple and they replaced it for me for like $50. I'm not sure if I was in warranty though. So I would assume if your not in warranty it would be $50 + service charge.

I had to pay for the bezel because that was not considered a manufacture's defect.

Thank much. I'll talk to them about that. When i approached them originally, they told me i had to get a new screen. I balked at them, so nothing has happened yet.
