If I order a computer from the apple store online, would it be possible to return it to a nearby apple store?

Also, I ordered online with an education discount but didn't ask for any type of approval (student id). What's the deal here?

I talked to a store associate today and they told me there is a 10% restocking fee.

restocking fee only applies if you opened the computer and nothing is wrong with the machine.

    fyi.

either way, yes you can return locally.

As for your second question, there's not really any convenient way to check student IDs online, so most "educational discounts" use the honor system. Kind of like how Office Student and Teacher was basically just "cheaper Office"; how does the clerk know you're actually a student or teacher?
