I heard about the Macbook Pro 15" model being really really hot underneath? Is this true? I heard that it's too hot to use the laptop on your lap. I think heat management is really important when choosing a performance notebook...

I don't think it's quite as comfortable as my T60 (Thinkpad), but it's not too hot to use on your lap.

On the other hand, it's much easier to use if for an extended period on your lap because it's so light and comfortable compared to the much heavier T60.

I never thought I be saying this, but I find the MBP the best laptop on the market... at least for my needs.

Wish I had money for the MBP, I'm sure the MB will not disappoint me.

Some members stated that the newer MBP with the C2D did not have the heat problem.

Wow, this is completely swinging me back to the MBP. I'm so indecisive. For a brief period I considered ditching the MBP to get the T60, but now I want to get the MBP.... ahhhhhhh

Lets be clear about one thing here, there WAS a MBP heat issue that is different from it getting hot. The early MBP units stayed hot ALL the time and under no load what so ever. My friend literally turned his on and within a few minutes it was blazing hot.
I bought my MBP in october and it gets a bit hot, but nothing really uncomfortable. The only time it gets really hot is if I'm gaming or charging it and doing some intensive work. Otherwise, it's fairly cool.

Well all computers get hot, especially the new gen ones. I remember the last notebook that i used that did not get hot at all was p2 366.

Well I know about the heat problem in the older models, but I read somewhere about some guy who took temperature readings of the latest models. He said that the newer models are around 18-25 degrees F cooler than the older models, which isn't really saying much because the older models were running at like 100+ degrees F.

I have a C2D macbook pro and there's no problem with it at all right now! Doesn't feel like it's gonna burn me!
