trying to decide betwen the two - really like the OSX but Win Vista not bad - the MB seems better for instant sleep and wake up compared to SZ - price not important -like portability and solidness and battery life -

Doing office +e-mail + internet+digital photos+/- movie films (short camcorder stuff up to 15 mins only holidays sports days family stuff) I know the graphics card is the BIG difference between the tow but does it mnatter for what I plan on doing with it ?
    Thanks in anticipation

You'll probably have better luck with the MacBook if you won't be gaming. Integrated video doesn't drain batteries nearly as fast as something dedicated, especailly if you're just doing basic tasks.

Granted, the dedicated video cards do help with DVD playback and such, but I don't know if you'll really need it.

I have personally never had good experience with Sony laptops (they keep falling apart on me after 1 years usage), so I would downright recommend the Macbook in terms of build quality.
If you are not going to be gaming, then I would also recommend the Macbook in terms of software, as OS X is just a much nicer and easier interface.
And dedicated video cards help with DVD playback if you're playing back on a film projector projecting 4096 horizontal pixel resolution, which I doubt you'll be doing, so the Macbook would be fine in terms of hardware.
