well the retail price is $1299, and $1599.

is this a serious post? would you like us to play along that this is worth posting on a notebook review website?

Then buy from Apple.com instead :p. No really, I don't think its of any concern. If anything, the prices should start dropping as the economy continues its downward trend.

Don't all prices for everything go up just before Xmas?
Its how retailers make $$, and its basic economics, ie supply and demand.
Demand is at its highest right now, thus price can be increased.
Also allows them to look like they are making huge discounts in the Jan Sales, slash prices off the inflated ones and they are back to normal prices, but people think they are getting a bargin due to the red marker pen.

No, what I mean is, Apple isn't a company that currently needs to raise any cash; its got $25 billion sitting in the bank. So its not like its cash-strapped that it needs to raise prices so it makes a dollar more for every product. Instead, what Apple probably should do is drop prices a bit, so that the sales will increase, because really the only people Apple needs to serve right now is its investors.

So true. Especially sales on already inflated prices; we've all fallen for it at one point.

For me, in the UK, after November 14th, the base MacBook price went up 20 pounds, but it recently went down 16 pounds, lol. (IDK if that's relevant xD).
