    Dear Notebookreviewers,
since I am new to this Mac scene, Id like to ask you for a few guidelines. I currently have Macbook pro 13" early 2015 and its working smoothly, the only thing I can't really enjoy are games (I still like to play Blizzard games - WoW, Hs, Starcraft, Diablo 3, ...) and I was thinking about selling mine for 1300 euro and buying 2 years old Macbook pro 15" with GT 650m for a little more gaming performance.

So, is the trade worth it and what do I have to be careful about when selecting 2012 15"? Ive seen there are different types:
    I7 2.3 or 2.6
    GT 650m 512mb vs 1gb

Ive also noticed that 2012 15" has intel hd 4000 - does that mean that the performance will be worse while not playing games? Will for example youtube work slower? Hows the battery on 2012 15" - i intend to buy one with 100 or less cycles since there are many different 15" 2012 being sold around here.

Any thoughts, ideas, comments greatly appreciated!

What you're looking at would be a lateral move at best and a downgrade at worst. If you want a MacBook with a discrete GPU, look for one with the GeForce GT 750M or better.

YouTube isn't going to run slower. Basic use stuff like streaming video, etc. requires so little power compared to what modern components are capable of that there's not going to be an effective difference from moving between IGPs.

Quad-core CPU and 650m are going to be an upgrade over dual-core CPU and integrated chip, even if you're going backwards. I personally would not make this trade as you are going from a solid (and new) ultraportable to a dektop replacement with much worse battery. IMO you would be better served to look into the homebrew eGPU solutions that many Mac gamers are messing with or begin to save for a gaming machine.

Sadly there are no Macbooks with 750m being sold in our country right now, except the new ones with price still being 2300eur+ (lol)... and neither can i find any on this forum.
